Our client is a well‑established Japanese food  trading company  is now embarking on a bold transformation to connect Japan and Asia into one seamless market. Their Hong Kong office is the first overseas hub, led directly by the company’s representative. They are seeking a founding member to join this journey—someone ready to be the “right hand” in discovering Asia’s finest ingredients and technologies (including culinary robotics) and delivering them to Japan and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Development: Identify suppliers and technologies in China, Vietnam, Thailand, and across Asia that meet Japanese market needs.
• Negotiation & Partnerships: Initiate contact, conduct visits, and negotiate pricing and export conditions with local manufacturers.
• Product Development Direction: Collaborate with Japan’s development team to bridge quality standards and oversee sample production.
• Export & Quality Management: Supervise manufacturing, prepare export/import documentation, and coordinate logistics with Japan.
• Continuous Improvement: Share market feedback with suppliers and drive product enhancements.

Candidate Profile

• Strong interest in cross‑border business and food/technology innovation.
• Experience in purchasing, sourcing, or international trade preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese & Mandarin, good command of Japanese is essential
• Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, adaptable, and ready to build new systems from the ground up.
• Willingness to travel within Asia for supplier visits and negotiations.
• Candidate with less experience but strong wills in food purchasing & exporting and flexible on frequent business trip, may also considered as Officer.
